Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth takes the Ace Attorney series from the courtroom to the crime scene, leaving the legal battle behind while bringing the action to various crime scenes. This time around, the player takes on the role of famed prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, a memorable rival of charismatic legal eagle Phoenix Wright. Users will be able to directly control the character avatar’s movement on the scene with the arrow key or touch screen and investigate the crime scenes freely. If, during the course of an investigation, users find contradictions, they will be able to obtain new information by presenting decisive evidence. On these occasions, users will have to uncover the truth behind the crimes using collected information, the evidence, and logic.

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth is a single player, crime-solving adventure for Nintendo DS and DSi. Featuring Miles Edgeworth, frequent opposing council in the Phoenix Wright games, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth takes players out of the court room and introduces them to crime scene investigation. Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth is composed of a number of episodes. In the first episode, an argument in Edgeworth's office results in a mysterious murder. Edgeworth, coming back from a one-month business trip, enters his office and encounters the body of the man who was shot. In the second episode, Edgeworth's plane journey takes a nasty turn when he wakes up after being knocked out during heavy turbulence. Shaken by the flashback of nightmarish past memories, he opens the onboard elevator's door to find a male corpse. At this very moment a cabin attendant witnesses the scene and Edgeworth is made a suspect of murder.

Gameplay
Like Capcom's Phoenix Wright games, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth is designed around the point-and-click game mechanic, with the player taking on a series of cases placed before them. Playing as Miles Edgeworth, players get to the bottom of cases by collecting information and evidence through detective work between key locations. These locations must be physically explored, with players given the choice of either the DS stylus or the D-pad to to facilitate movement, and collect clues. Within the game's 'Logic' mode, which symbolizes Edgeworth's logical inferences, users can discover new information and evidence by combining clues discovered in the action portion of the game. Eventually, with the discovery of the right clues the real culprit will be revealed through these investigations and the confrontation of witnesses to expose contradictions in a 'battle' mechanism (Testimony - Pursuit - Press - Confront), which is similar to that of the 'Court Battle' in the Ace Attorney series (Testimony - Cross Examination).

Nintendo DSi XL Portable Gaming Console UTLSWRA Video Game Consoles

Nintendo has long been the recognized leader in mobile gaming, and continues this legacy with the DSi XL. The fourth iteration in Nintendo's wildly popular DS franchise of handheld gaming devices, the DSi XL retains all the functionality of the earlier Nintendo DSi—including dual digital cameras, touch screen controls, a built-in wireless Web browser*, SD memory card expansion, a game download system and more—but also includes new exclusive features. These include two larger 4.2-inch LCD screens, a unique larger stylus, three bundled games and applications and two new release color schemes.

The System
The DSi XL is the second hardware release in Nintendo's DSi product line and is a high-powered handheld video game system with an two extra large, 4.2-inch diagonal viewing angle screens that are 93% larger than those of the DS Lite. Not only does it possess all the features of the standard DSi, it is backwards compatible to all game cards designed for the DS, DS Lite and DSi, allows for access to downloadable DSiWare games and applications through the Nintendo DSi Shop and comes bundled with three DSiWare titles. Additional features include touch screen control via the included full size, easy to hold stylus, the ability to snap, edit and share photos with friends using the two built-in digital cameras, music playback with Nintendo DSi Sound and Internet browsing with the built-in Nintendo DSi browser. Two Onboard Digital Cameras
One of the most powerful and interactive features of the Nintendo DSi XL system are its two digital cameras - one situated on the external body pointing away from the user, and the second pointing at the user when the device is flipped open. The DSi XL cameras feature 10 different interactive "lenses" that can manipulate your photos, offering an easy way to take and share your photos with family and friends. The cameras also present people with unprecedented ways to interact with their games—for example the ability to import images into select games—and in the process provide developers with a new tool to devise more creative, interactive games and experiences. If the touch screen gave Nintendo DS a sense of feel and the microphone allowed it to hear, the two cameras and larger screens give Nintendo DSi XL the sense of sight.

Nintendo DSi Sound icon
DSi Sound
As with the DSi before it, the DSi XL features the Nintendo DSi Sound application, which serves as both an interactive voice recorder and music player* that allows users to play with their music while they listen to it. Users can access different audio filters or control the pitch and speed of recorded voice or music files to alter voices or change the tempo of a song. The DSi XL microphone is located between the two screens when the device is flipped open, and there is also a stereo headphone output that lets users listen to music saved on an SD cards (sold separately), even with the screen shut.

Pre-loaded Games, Downloads and More
The DSi XL offers players a wide range of handheld gaming options and applications. To begin with, the DSi XL can play most of the DS and DSi games published to date and going forward, giving players access to a library of literally many hundreds of games. Next there is DSiWare. Featuring the most relevant and fun on-the-go games and applications the Nintendo DSiWare application allows users to populate their DSi XL with software that can be downloaded directly to the portable system using Nintendo DSi Points, just as is done with WiiWare and Nintendo's Wii console. Developers big and small are invited to create software that makes use of the properties and functions of the hardware. Nintendo DSiWare games and applications are available at a range of values, starting at 200 points, equal to just a few dollars.

In addition to the ever-growing catalog of DSiWare titles available for download through the DSiWare application, the DSi XL ships with three pre-loaded DSiWare titles designed to entertain and challenge users, as well as take advantage of the DSi XL's unique features right out of the box. These include:

Review & Description

Offering a planet-sized world of adventure to explore and conquer, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn puts the raw power of the elements in players' hands. Each of the game's playable characters is capable of carrying Djinn, spirits that imbue their owner with unique and powerful abilities. Players can collect more than 70 unique Djinn, granting them the ability to summon mighty deities who unleash devastating attacks that fill both Nintendo DS screens. Djinn powers can also be used to navigate puzzling dungeons and overworld environments that will have players flinging fireballs to burn away obstacles, freezing water to raise platforms, or summoning whirlwinds to create bridges out of floating objects. Taking place 30 years after the events of Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age for the Game Boy Advance system, Golden Sun: Dark Dawn introduces a new generation of heroes that are struggling to survive in a radically changed world. What begins as a simple journey to rescue a lost friend turns into a dramatic quest to save the land from catastrophe as players are drawn into a world full of magical energy.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is a single player role-playing game (RPG) for Nintendo DS and DSi that continues the Golden Sun adventure begun in the original two games in the series published for Game Boy Advance. The game features randomly occurring, party based combat in which descendants of characters seen in the original two games utilize elemental powers to alter the game environment in a quest to save their world. Additional features include: improved graphics, touchscreen and D-pad controls and the ability to consult non-player characters regarding relevant events of the first two games in the series.

It's Always Darkest Before the Dawn

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn is a classic role-playing game that branches out on the DS and DSi with a new look, countless adventures and heroic battles. The game picks up 30 years after the first two games in the series left off. At the end of Golden Sun: The Lost Age, the heroes succeeded in bringing the world-healing power of the Golden Sun back to the world of Weyard. In the years since, the immense power of the Golden Sun has changed nearly everything. Continents have shifted. New countries have emerged. New species have appeared. But the world is now imperiled by a new threat. Psynergy Vortexes, which suck the elemental Psynergy from both the land and power-wielding Adepts alike, are spreading across the world. The new generation of heroes – the children of those from the previous games – are drawn into the mystery behind the vortexes, as they cross a chaotic world that is succumbing to a new evil.

Gameplay

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn, like earlier games in its series, is a turn-based RPG featuring randomly generated party combat. It supports a single player. Players assume the role of one of four characters known as "Adepts," who are descendants of characters from the two previous games in the series published on the Game Boy Advance handheld platform. Each Adept is associated with an elemental force and are classified as such.

Although in a sense the gameworld is threatened by Psynergy, this force, which can be understood as a kind of mana, is also the basis of Adepts' powers. Again, as previously seen in the series this allows the player to manipulate Psynergy to alter the world around them and to summon anthropomorphised elemental forces known as Djinn who unleash forces related to their element. Djinn can be carried along with the character and used at will as long as the character possess enough energy to maintain their attack. Djinn can also facilitate movement through the game, for example freezing liquid to create bridges, melting and blowing away obstacles, etc. There are 70 Djinn available in-game, whose combining alters player's stats and strategy when facing enemies. Additional features include: updated graphics, touchscreen control and the ability to question non-player characters for information related to the events of the previous two games.

Key Game Features

  • Classic single player turn-based RPG party combat gameplay.
  • Amazing graphics and beautifully animated summoning abilities that span both Nintendo DS screens let players experience the Golden Sun game universe like never before.
  • The story takes place 30 years after the final events of the second game, when the Golden Sun Effect occurred. The main characters are the descendants of the previous game's heroes.
  • Intuitive touch-screen control has been implemented throughout the game, controlling character movements and the release of Psynergy – magical abilities with powerful effects over people and the environment. Touch control also streamlines battle commands and gives players a stronger tactile connection to the action on the screen.
  • Players will explore a vast and beautifully rendered world where they will find many treasures, encounter dangerous creatures and manipulate objects blocking their path.
  • Players will also hunt for and collect Djinn, mysterious elemental creatures used to summon powerful spirits in battle and boost player stats.
